Artist Statement
My practice explores the emotional landscapes that shape our lives yet often resist language. Through abstraction, I aim to make visible what is felt but cannot easily be spoken, creating paintings that invite reflection beyond narrative or representation.
Working primarily with fluid acrylics on raw canvas, I embrace the unpredictable nature of my materials. Transparent layers, organic movement, and subtle shifts in colour emerge through a process that balances intention with chance. Rather than controlling every outcome, I allow the behaviour of the paint to become an active collaborator, revealing forms and relationships that could not have been planned.
My work is rooted in the belief that emotions and memories are not fixed but constantly shifting. Instead of depicting specific events or stories, I focus on the traces they leave behind—moments of vulnerability, transformation, longing, or stillness. Through abstraction, I aim to distill these experiences into compositions that resonate on an intuitive level.
Painting is, for me, both an act of discovery and of translation. It is a way of exploring the invisible aspects of human experience and giving shape to what often remains beneath conscious thought. Rather than offering definitive interpretations, I create open spaces where viewers can bring their own emotions, memories, and associations into dialogue with the work.
